fracture
Research on the concept of „Fracture" using different media, 2007 - 2014
"Breakage, failure, fracture are quite negatively charged words in our societies. But it is not at all my intention to write about the pessimistic aspect of these phenomena. My interest, apart from investigating why something breaks, is to visualize what happens after that. The cycles of creation and destruction are parts of life. They are life itself. In Hinduism the trinity consists of Brahma-the creator-, Vishnu-the preserver- and Shiva -the destroyer. Shiva is a very beloved figure. He breaks what is not needed anymore, ruins what does not function and creates space for new realities to come. This comes in agreement with the above analysis about structure, function and internal and external causes of breakage. Something cannot sustain anymore its weight, it does not function anymore, it does not serve anymore its purpose. The best thing that can happen then is breakage. End of cycle. And this is not negative. Not at all. It is this moment of realization, the ultimate conscious act of transformation. What is happening after that is space for a new reality. "
