(Un)identified Flying Object reflects on the dream of humans to fly and the role of materials especially textiles in the realization of this dream. Cotton as a textile used in the first prototype aeroplanes and carbon and glass fiber textiles as the state of the art textiles for aerospace today. (Un)identified Flying Object combines these materials in an abstract structure that can or cannot be identified as a flying object. Inspiration is taken from kite designs as our first attempt to reach the skies in our childhood.
